Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of Answerlume's public AI visibility checker, reports, and related website services. By submitting a check or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
Answerlume creates AI visibility reports for submitted product websites. A standard free check generates five buyer-intent prompts and runs each prompt three times on two platforms, ChatGPT and Perplexity. A completed two-platform check therefore contains up to 30 observations, along with available answer text, citations, platform details, and timestamps.
Answerlume uses third-party Bright Data datasets to collect these observations. It does not directly query an official ChatGPT, OpenAI, or Perplexity API. A provider can return partial, delayed, incomplete, or unavailable data, and Answerlume may display a partial report when one platform fails.
2. Sampled results and no guarantee
AI answers vary across time, location, model state, personalization, and repeated runs. Answerlume reports are sampled statistical observations, not an exhaustive record or a guarantee of any brand's absolute ranking, citation status, future visibility, traffic, revenue, or platform treatment. Reports are provided for informational and research purposes and are not legal, financial, or professional advice.
You are responsible for reviewing the raw evidence and deciding whether any optimization, marketing, or business action is appropriate. Passing a check does not mean that an AI platform endorses your product.
3. Free usage limits
To control third-party provider costs and protect the service from abuse, the anonymous checker currently allows two checks per IP address per UTC day, one check per submitted domain per UTC day, and 100 checks across the entire service per UTC day. Limits are reserved when a check starts, so a failed or abandoned check may still consume the daily allowance. Answerlume may reduce, increase, suspend, or reset these limits when needed for security, availability, provider constraints, or cost control.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit a website or product in a way that violates law, intellectual property, or another person's rights;
- circumvent rate limits, automate abusive requests, probe credentials, or interfere with the service;
- misrepresent a sampled report as an official statement from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Bright Data, or Answerlume;
- resell, scrape, or redistribute the service or report data at scale without written permission; or
- use Answerlume to facilitate fraud, harassment, unlawful surveillance, or deceptive practices.
Answerlume may restrict access when reasonably necessary to enforce these rules or protect the service.
5. Accounts and subscriptions
When Google sign-in is available, you may create an Answerlume account using a verified Google email. You are responsible for maintaining control of that Google account and for keeping your account information accurate. Answerlume does not receive or store your Google password.
When checkout is enabled, Founding Monitor is a $19 monthly subscription billed through Stripe. The pricing page and Stripe Checkout show the billing interval, included scope, applicable taxes, and final amount before you authorize payment. The subscription renews automatically each month until canceled. The initial scope is one product, 10 tracked prompts, ChatGPT and Perplexity monitoring, three independent samples, 90-day evidence history, and competitor and citation changes. Service availability remains subject to third-party provider access and the sampled-results limitations above.
You may manage or cancel an active subscription through the Stripe billing portal linked from the pricing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current paid billing period unless the checkout terms or applicable law require otherwise. Refunds and service credits follow the Refund and Cancellation Policy.
6. Ownership and feedback
Answerlume and its original software, design, branding, and site content are owned by Answerlume or its licensors. You retain any rights you have in information you submit. You grant Answerlume the limited permission needed to process that information and generate the requested report. If you send voluntary feedback, Answerlume may use it without restriction or compensation.
7. Availability and changes
The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Answerlume does not promise uninterrupted availability, permanent report storage, or continued access to a particular provider or platform. Features, providers, limits, and these Terms may change. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Answerlume disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy. Answerlume will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from use of the service.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Answerlume's aggregate liability for any claim related to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Answerlume during the three months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so these limits apply only to the extent permitted by law.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of GOVERNING_LAW, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in the corresponding jurisdiction will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer-protection law requires another forum or governing law.
