How a check actually works

Every check runs five buyer-style prompts (for example, "best tools for X" or "X vs Y") on two live AI search engines: ChatGPT Search and Perplexity. Each prompt runs three independent times. That is 30 real observations per check, collected through Bright Data's scraping infrastructure against the live products, not an API replay of training data.

The report shows you the raw material: the full answer text of every run, every citation URL the engines linked to, the model used, and the timestamp. Mention and citation frequencies are counted directly from those observations.

Why we don't show a "visibility score"

Many tools in this category reduce your AI presence to a single number. Some audit your robots.txt and schema markup and call it an AI visibility check. Others simulate what an AI might say instead of asking it. A precise-looking score built on proxies is worse than honest evidence, because it hides the variance that matters.

AI answers genuinely vary between runs. That is why Answerlume repeats every prompt three times and reports frequencies ("mentioned in 4 of 15 ChatGPT answers") with the raw answers attached. You can read exactly what the AI said and judge for yourself.

Each live check costs us real money in data collection. We keep the free tier at three checks per Google account so makers can get an honest first read of their AI visibility without a credit card. A paid monthly check pack for people who need more volume is on the pricing page.
